Stop Caving In

Well now that the all important speech is not conflicting with a small scale debate not many people will watch everything should be JUST FINE... except for the whole conflicting with the start of the NFL season, the one with the concerts and fireworks and jet planes and everything America seems to get a hard on for. I would wager more jobless people will watch the football game/preshow than will watch the actual speech. Republicans win yet again, i have to hand it to them, they play some good politics. As long as they keep their response respectful and not inflammatory, i'd say they'll look like the good guys in a week or so.
I was told earlier today that this type of request is rarely if ever refused, it was brought up that it actually has never been refused. I'm not even sure how to fact check that. But it was certainly true tonight. The Right cries you didn't cater to us, and so we do as they wish. Image wise it would seem very dumb to say its a joint speech and then not have the people on the other side there. Furthermore, i understand how these schedules work, and i have to wonder who in the world would book it the same night and time as another perceived large political event? Someone set him up to fail on this one, i don't get why, i don't see the strategy, what is the point of all of this? the story isn't even about what he'll say, it's about who he upset scheduling the thing, doesn't that scare anyone else?
Avoid the speech, just send out a simple letter written in plain English at a 6th grade reading level (the Average American reading level) that describes the plan. Inspire the country to do something greater, to help each other out for our collective success, get called a socialist or whatever hateful term they want to throw out there at you. wear it with pride because the truth is if we don't start working together and helping each other out, things will stay the same. the rich will get richer, the poor poorer, and no incentive will exist to change that.
or we could go the route of Lewis Black and build a Big Fucking Thing in Mississippi. Our generations version of National Parks. Even better, invest it all in lotto tickets.
